hi! atlast!haha.. sobrang tagal ko na hindi nag update. super busy kasi sa school and i feel so lazy upadating na. and besides, im not even sure if you guys are still checking out my site..(haha.. tampo daw ako..haha).
damn. sobrang wala pa talaga akong tulog. 2 hours lang yata sleep ko and i was doing a lot of things this past few days. and im sure na mas toxic pa this coming week, coz i will be presenting na sa ad campaign namin. add to that yung thesis namin that is due on tuesday. i mean its ok for the other groups sa class coz they will just revise some stuff in the chapters 1 and 2. the just have to do the chapter 3. unlike our group that will start totally from scratch!!!haha.. thanks to our 'so good' adviser.. grrr... but im optimistic that we will do good tomorrow.
im just thinking on how heavy my stuff will be tomorrow coz i have to bring my laptop.. yeah.. laptop. but its not that jurassic laptop. its a bit new naman. but compared to the 'notebooks' that are all over the place na, it will really look a lil old na. but its slim pa din naman.. haha.. fine.. bitter lang ako kasi di ako naka notebook..haha
oh boy, just finished taking some pictures for the specialized exams kanina. the theme is not that hard. in fact, i finished it for like 2 hours lang..haha.. yabang.. im a lil happy coz 6 persons applied for the position as photojournalists! i think its a record breaker for my section!haha.. i just hope that we will absorb like 3 photographers. coz i feel or think that i deserve less pahirap sa varsi. its been 3 years of cramming and making habol deadlines and all..haha.. sleepy na ako.. ok. so dont take my english seriously...:)
i guess i gotta go home na. siguro naman i deserve some sleep na diba? and yes! i think i will be updating na my blog more often!

Tigers Halt Eagles’ Winning Run
by Nathaniel T. Dela Cruz

University of Santo Tomas pulled off the biggest upset of the season after shaming Ateneo De Manila University in their home court with a 77-73 win in the second round of eliminations of the men’s basketball tournament of the 68th University Athletic Association of the Philippines at the Blue Eagle Gym in Katipunan, Quezon City.

The Growling Tigers managed to finish what they started, after the Espana-based squad started spewing fire as early as the first quarter and not letting up until the final buzzer sounded.

Jai Reyes trimmed the erstwhile double-digit lead to just one, 74-73, with less than a minute to play but Chester Taylor hit a short stab off a feed from the driving Jojo Duncil to increase the lead to three with 27.6 seconds left in the game.

LA Tenorio, who was shooting miserably throughout the game, missed two three point shots in Ateneo’s last possession, enabling UST to notch its fourth win and duplicate its four-win finish this year. Duncil’s split from the stripe sealed the win.

Intal missed three successive putback attempts from pointblank range after Ken Barracoso’s split from the charity line and a breakaway dunk in the 1:57 mark of the final period, dimming whatever hopes of Ateneo pulling the rug off UST’s feet.

Santo Tomas U snapped Ateneo’s seven-game winning streak and tallied their first back-to-back win in the 2005 hostilities after defeating host Adamson University in their previous assignment.

The Tigers were 0-2 versus the Blue Eagles last year. They were also humbled in their first round encounter. If it wasn’t enough to make the win impossible, then add the health concerns of its two main gunners.

Danny Pribhdas suited up but wasn’t fielded in after contracting flu while Warren G. De Guzman sprained his ankle in the second quarter.

The rest of the team contributed immensely, with rookie Dylan Ababou coming off the bench with a career-high 20 points to go with four rebounds, three assists and one steal en route to posting the biggest lead of the game at 50-28.

Ababou, who was recruited from Sienna College, already had 10 points going into the second half after shooting 4 out of 6 from the field. Ababou was perfect from the two-point zone after making all three attempts, along with Anthony Espiritu (2 out of 2) and John Paul Cuan (2 out of 2).

Taylor chipped in 12 points while Duncil, Espiritu and Allan Evangelista finished with nine markers each.

Despite being out of the running for a semis seat, UST coach Nel Parado feels positive about the team’s win.

“What I saw today was the team which will be competitive next year. We played this game still wanting to win to be able to give the players who will suit up next year more playing time,” Parado said.

Tenorio went scoreless in the first half after missing his solitary attempt - a three point shot - from the field, in 15 minutes of play while Intal managed just two points. Tenorio finished the game with a single basket as Douglas Kramer led the team with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

IT WAS a reversal of fates for the UST Senior Volleyball Teams this season as the Tiger Spikers zoomed to the top of the standings, while the rookie and sophomore-laden Lady Spikers settled for a dismal fifth.
Coach August Santamaria’s volleybelles, 6-4, have been struggling with chinks in their once solid lineup, but are steadily recovering from the slump. The Season 67 bridesmaids have notched three-consecutive victories, following a so-so first round showing.
Meanwhile, there’s just no stopping the Tiger Spikers, who are now toting a 9-1 win-loss card after an opening day setback to the University of the Philippines (UP) Maroons.
Unstoppable Tiger Spikers
The Tiger Spikers opened the second round of eliminations with three-consecutive straight-set demolitions of University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, and Adamson University.
UST’s most recent victim was Adamson in a 25-13, 25-15, 25-18 match last Aug. 28.
Against UST’s strong starting rotation led by team skipper and setter Christian Fernandez, the low-flying Falcons never got their offense going in the 64-minute outing.
“Our lineup is stronger compared to the other teams because we only lost one player in our starting rotation. Most of us are already familiar with the team’s strategies,” Fernandez said.
The veteran tosser said the team is having minor problems with blocking, but other than that, he believes UST is in true champion form.
“After every game, we huddle and talk about their good points and bad points,” Lontoc said of their post-game evaluation. “Malaking tulong ‘yon para malaman ng players kung ano ang dapat nilang gawin pa para tumaas ang level ng kanilang laro.”
With just three matches left in the eliminations, Lontoc is already confident of his team’s Finals stint.
“Mataas ang winning quotient namin. We’ve consistently improved our game and I don’t believe there is anything that could stop our momentum,” UST’s long-time mentor said.
Defending champion Far Eastern University (FEU) and perennial title-contender UP may be stumbling blocks in UST’s road to victory, but Lontoc believes the team is conditioned to reap the fruits of its labor since the off-season.
“(The boys) underwent tough physical preparation. We have a training program to hone their individual skills and make sure they play to their potential,” said Lontoc of his team, which recently played against the RP Men’s Volleyball team in a friendship game.
Troubled Lady Spikers
While the Tiger Spikers are enjoying the top-billing, its female counterparts are having a hard time to stay in contention for a Final Four slot.
During the first few games, the Lady Spikers struggled with chinks in their once solid lineup. But the España-based volleybelles are slowly recovering in the second round, recently demolishing National University, __, __, __, last Aug. 28.
Led by Season 67 Rookie of the Year Mary Jean Balse, UST pulled off a shocker against defending champion De La Salle University (DLSU), __, __, __, last Aug. 24.
“Initially, we had problems with our setter (Denise Tan) because she is still adjusting to the level of competition, but she is gradually improving,” assistant coach Cesael de los Santos said.
Team skipper and open hitter Kate Co Yu Kang, who is still recovering from the knee injury she sustained in the Shakey’s V-League last May, is relegated as libero, alongside rookie Joanne de la Fuente.
De los Santos said Co Yu Kang, hailed as the V-League Best Digger, has shown remarkable improvement as a defensive specialist.
The Lady Spikers are looking to sustain the momentum from a three-game winning run to earn a semis ticket, but they may face tough contention against University of the East, Far Eastern University, and UP.

here goes.... dandararantantan...!!!!

3:00pm, just this afternoon, encounter with the elevator operator

i and 2 of my other classmates went to the 1st floor of our building to get the tv for our lit class. i was supposed to go back to class a little later coz i have to cover an event. fortunately, the event was move later in the afternoon so i just helped them with the tv.
we entered the elevator, i was holding the camera, and this &^*&^g*&^^%(&^!!!!!! elevator operator said, "mabigat na din pala bitbitin pati ang camera?" that remark made a "TING!"(haha) sound.. i didnt react instantly coz i was trying to process inside what she have just said....grrr..... i was not able to react unfortunately... but i promise to get her name later this day about what sheve just did...

2 weeks ago, adver report

i sucked during the reporting. grr... it was really embarassing. my groupmates was able to memomerize their report except me. i was not able to memorize my script and i was obviously nervous while doing my report. enought about that... but i really think that i look really stupid and so mentally challenged.
we ended up getting only 80 out of 100.. but it was not entirely my fault. all of us have a share with it.

******* a tribute to my classmates

i really dont like some or half or lets just stock with "some" of them. why?

1. lots of them are 'plastic'. you really dont know if they like you or not. i really dont care if they like my or not. all i want is that if they dont like me, i hope that theyre just gonna say it in front of me.

2. social climbers. mind you. there are lots of them.

3.they are so talkative. but they usually talk about nosense stuff.

FRENCH LETTER

There was once a boy who got a letter in the mail. He opened it and the contents of it was in French. The boy asked his mother what it was and she looked it over. She didn't understand French, so she suggested to the boy to ask the French teacher at his school.

The next day before school, the boy walked up to the French teacher and asked her to read and translate the letter. The teacher agreed and began to read the Letter. The pleasant appearance on her face turned to anger as she continued reading the letter. She looked at the boy and said, "Don't even think about coming within five miles near me or I swear I will kill you!" And with that she sent the boy to the principal's office.

The principal was a little confused by the French teacher's reasons for sending the child to his office and asked the boy what happened. The boy explained how he gave her a note to translate and that she threw a fit. The principal nodded and asked to see the note and said that he knew French and would check out the letter. The boy reluctantly gave the letter and the principal read it. After reading the letter, the principal lowered the letter and revealed an angered face. "You're suspended. Come within five feet of this school and I swear I'll kill you!"

The boys parents were surprised to see him home early later that day. His mom asked him what happened and the boy explained what had happened. The boy's father said that he knew french and asked to read the letter and find out what could have been so bad that the boy had to be suspended.

Thinking that his father had some sense in him not to ground him or threaten him because of the letter, the boy allowed the father to read it. Suddenly, a low voice came from his dad that turned into a frightening yell, "You get out of this house now! If you come within five feet of us, I swear I'll kill you!!"

A few years later, the boy was successful in an army with several badges and many many adoring friends. One night he was asked why he ended up in the army. The young man spoke of his life before he received the letter, then the effects that it had on his life. His friends in the army listened to him very intently then asked if he had the letter with him after so many years. The young man nodded and everyone asked him to let them read it. Feeling that these were his friends and that since this was all in the past, the young man thought it would be okay to read it. So he took out the letter that had ruined his life and gave it to his friends who all gathered around it and read. After they had read it, they all stripped him from his badges and awards and yelled at him for not being worthy enough to stay in the army. He was banned from the premesis and was told, "If you come within five feet of this place, we swear we'll kill you!"

The young man, feeling deprived of anything good in life, walked along a high bridge and looked down. This was his only answer left in life. There was no longer anything he could do to make anything better and his life was torn to shreds because of that letter. Before he was about to jump, the young man saw a little kid walking across the bridge, too. "Excuse me," the young man asked the little kid. "Do you speak french by any chance?" "Of course," said the little kid. "Who doesn't?" "Well, could you please tell me what my letter says and promise not to theaten me or get angry like anyone else? This is very important and I'll even pay you to just tell me what it means and not say a word about this to anyone else. Could you please please help me?" asked the young man. The little kid smiled and nodded. "Okay."

Happy that the secret of his ruined life would be revealed, the boy eagerly searched for the letter in his pockets. The little kid getting quite a bit impatient hurried the young man saying that he needed to get home soon. "Oh, SHIT!" yelled the young man. What?" asked the little kid. "I left the letter in my army camp!"

>Eager to know what the letter said???

it's been awhile since i've last updated my blog. i was really busy with school and with the school paper.
we have been shooting for the last two weeks for our video report regarding print production for our advertising class. doing the video is not that difficult. its just that we have to go to different places. and with the really good weather we have now, it is simply not possible for us to finish it easily--i really hate rainy season. i usually wear my shorts now coz i really hate it when my pants get wet.
with the school paper...hmmmm.. it's really embarrasing how the third issue turned out. it was really bad.. especially the pictures--it was not composed that well and the way the paper is pronted was awfully dark. it's really embarrasing.

TRADITIONAL ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies and the economy grows.
You retire on the income.

CHINESE ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim full employment, high bovine productivity
and arrest anyone reporting the actual numbers.

INDIAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You worship them.

PAKISTAN ECONOMICS
You don't have any cows.
You claim that the Indian cows belong to you.
You ask the US for financial aid, China for military
aid, Britain for warplanes, Italy for machines,
Germany for technology, France for submarines,
Switzerland for loans, Russia for drugs and Japan for
equipment.
You buy the cows with all this and claim exploitation
by the world.

AMERICAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You sell one and force the other to produce the milk
of four cows.
You profess surprise when the cow drops dead.
You put the blame on some nation with cows & naturally
that nation will be a danger to mankind.
You wage war to save the world and grab the cows.

FRENCH ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You go on strike because you want three cows.

GERMAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You reengineer them so that they live for 100 years,

BRITISH ECONOMICS

SWISS ECONOMICS
You have 5000 cows, none of which belong to you.
You charge others for storing them.

RUSSIAN ECONOMICS

You count them again and learn you have 42 cows.
You count them again and learn you have 17 cows.
You give up counting and open another bottle of vodka.

MALAYSIAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You slaughter one for Hari Raya Puasa and the other

PHILIPPINE ECONOMICS
You have only one cow.
So the government claims there is a shortage of cows.
The government ask grants from other countries so the

The other countries oblige.
The government divides the grants among themselves,

The people stage People Power 42.
The government is overthrown.
Then its back to the single cow.

i'm back again... it's been quite a long time since i've updated my blog coz i really can't find the time to open it and write something.

***

yesterday was quite a very busy day for me. my day started as early at 5am coz i have i have to meet my groupmates in my advertising class by 8am (i know that i really move really slow thats why i have to get up early). we went to mccann at about 9am and met some people there.
the interview went fairly ok. except when we ran out of v8 and accidentally deleted all the photos in the digicam.
by 12nn, we went to greenbelt for our lunch (i havent eaten anything since i woke up) and i was already feeling so hungry and all. so i ordered a two piece chicken meal and a pizza... and coke lite ( im too thin to have a diet. i just love the after taste).
and so after greenbelt, we went to print town--one of the most advanced and largest printing press in the country. it took us almost 2 hours to reach the place (it's near brent school)because the traffic was so bad. good thing that my group mates were funny and fun to be with thats why we didn't bother to complain in the car coz we were like sardines.
atlast, print town! we were checked out the place and man! its big! imagine, they have 3 warehouse all filled with hitech machines and lots and lotsa papers! they were the ones printing the 100million yellowpages directory this year, pdi, libre, etc.... wow... they have these really huge printers... basta, it was really a print TOWN! and oh, they won this years best printing press in the region. diba galing?
we ended our 'fieldtrip' at around 5:30pm. while my groupmates are already so tired and wanted to sleep home. i still have to go to ABSCBN to watch my friend's taping for close up to fame. he asked me to be in the studio by 6:30. but i arrived there by 7:30.. i really thought that i will be so late. but good thing that it started late. i wasnt able to finish the taping coz i still have classes at 7am today. but i think i was able to finish half of the segment.
and i hope that jayson will win..hehe... i think that he really have the potential to be the next close up endorser coz he has better communicvation skills compared to the other contestants. and he looks good on tv, like me.:)
oh, i have to end this now. i still have to finish my paper in advertising.
